Fabric for Sakura Dress
I went to Darn Cheap this weekend & picked out my fabric for my Sakura dress. I also went to a bead store & got some beads for the flowers;
From left to right: Pale pink polyester lining, pale pink grosgrain ribbon for waist stay, clasp for waist stay, brown embroidery cotton, hot pink silk for flowers, gold & white beads for flowers (there are 10 vials of beads in total I’ve just shown these two :S), brown silk for sash, pale pink silk for bodice & skirt.
Calculating how much of everything that I need for this dress has been a nightmare. Working out exactly how many branches I’ll sew on the skirt, how many flowers on each branch, how many pieces of fabric in each flower, how many beads in each flower & so on. I’ll probably have to get more embroidery thread, but I think the rest will be OK. Now I can start sewing (almost)!
